Patty Hiestand's Legendary Cheesecake Recipe from Antique Trader (c. early 1980s)

Crust

1 c. ground walnuts
24 vanilla wafers, crushed
½ stick butter

Middle

24 oz. (3 packages) cream cheese
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Topping

2 c. (1 pint) sour cream
½ c. sugar
½ tsp. vanilla

Grind walnuts in blender, crush vanilla wafers and melt butter. Mix together and press into bottom of springform pan. Mix cream cheese with sugar. Mix in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Pour into crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. While baking, make topping by mixing sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Pour onto cake when baked and return to oven for 10 minutes. Let cool to room temperature and then chill completely in refrigerator.
